MEMORIE DAL PASSATO PER UN FUTURO PRESENTE
Che grande esperienza, che gioia, che privilegio aver conosciuto “The greatest” William Klein! Era un artista stra-ordinario che ha rivoluzionato il modo di fotografare, di filmare, di dipingere sulle sue stesse immagini.
Che fortuna aver avuto la possibilità di allestire e ospitare al Castello Volante la sua mostra CONTACTS durante l’edizione 2018 della Festa di Cinema del reale.

Occhio apriti apriti!
Venire a contatto con le opere di William Klein è come partecipare a un rito propiziatorio per gli occhi. Non è un rito dedicato solo ai fotografi, ai film-makers, ai pittori… William Klein è inarrestabile, ha un’energia travolgente che coinvolge tutti, che ti porta dove c’è movimento, dove le facce si scontrano e si incontrano, dove i bambini esprimono tutta la loro forza e fragilità, dove ti puntano addosso una pistola. È una guerra di strada, una sfida di facce, di manifestazioni, di sfilate, di lotte dove l’occhio non sa più dove trovare rifugio. Non c’è nessuna celebrazione, nessun attimo decisivo, siamo bombardati, siamo alla deriva, siamo in un flusso di scatti e di riprese che scivolano in mezzo a una folla di persone ed eventi che sono continui mutamenti.
Ogni tanto William Klein si ferma, riguarda tutti i suoi fotogrammi, ne sceglie alcuni e li segna con pennellate forti, dense di colori.
Questa tempesta creativa travolge lo spettatore, è una lotta corpo a corpo, è come una raffica di pugni sugli occhi scatenata dal grande Muhammed Ali.
Ma è anche un viaggio della mente, un’esplosione di libertà, un racconto senza regole, un rito magico creato da un uomo che ci fa conoscere tutte le facce del mondo.

Quelle belle expérience, quelle joie, quel privilège d'avoir connu « Le plus grand » William Klein ! C'était un artiste extraordinaire qui a révolutionné la manière de photographier, filmer, peindre sur ses propres images. Quelle chance il a eu l'opportunité d'installer et d'animer son exposition CONTACTS au Castello Volante lors de l'édition 2018 du Real Cinema Festival.

Ouvre les yeux!
Entrer en contact avec les œuvres de William Klein, c'est comme participer à un rite propitiatoire pour les yeux. Ce n'est pas un rituel dédié uniquement aux photographes, cinéastes, peintres... William Klein est imparable, il a une énergie débordante qui implique tout le monde, qui vous emmène là où il y a du mouvement, là où les visages se heurtent et se rencontrent, là où les enfants expriment tout leur force et leur fragilité, où ils pointent une arme sur vous. C'est une guerre de rue, un défi de visages, de manifestations, de défilés, de luttes où l'œil ne sait plus où se réfugier. Il n'y a pas de fête, pas de moment décisif, on est bombardé, on est à la dérive, on est dans un flot de coups et de coups qui glissent au milieu d'une foule de gens et d'événements qui changent sans cesse. De temps en temps, William Klein s'arrête, regarde tous ses cadres, en choisit quelques-uns et les marque de coups de pinceau forts et colorés. Cette tempête créative submerge le spectateur, c'est un combat au corps à corps, c'est comme un déluge de coups de poing dans les yeux déchaînés par le grand Muhammed Ali. Mais c'est aussi un voyage de l'esprit, une explosion de liberté, une histoire sans règles, un rituel magique créé par un homme qui nous fait découvrir tous les visages du monde. Ouvre les yeux !

Eye open open!
Coming into contact with the works of William Klein is like participating in a propitiatory rite for the eyes. It is not a ritual dedicated only to photographers, film-makers, painters... William Klein is unstoppable, he has an overwhelming energy that involves everyone, that takes you where there is movement, where faces collide and meet, where children express all their strength and fragility, where they point a gun at you. It is a street war, a challenge of faces, of demonstrations, of parades, of struggles where the eye no longer knows where to find refuge. There is no celebration, no decisive moment, we are bombarded, we are adrift, we are in a flow of shots and shots that slide into a crowd of people and events that are continuous changes.
Every now and then William Klein stops, looks at all his frames, chooses some of them and marks them with strong brushstrokes, full of colors. This creative storm overwhelms the viewer, it is a hand-to-hand fight, it is like a barrage of punches on the eyes unleashed by the great Muhammed Ali.
But it is also a journey of the mind, an explosion of freedom, a story without rules, a magical ritual created by a man who makes us know all the faces of the world.
